Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson recently shared her thoughts on the influence of Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese in the WNBA.
“I think she really brought in other celebrities from different entertainment factors. The things that she’s done, the collabs that she’s had, it’s truly amazing to watch, and I hope it continues to grow,” Wilson said.
Wilson believes Reese’s impact on the league has been amazing, given her ability to attract viewers from different platforms. Her take on the Sky rookie has reached over 2,500 likes and 40,000 views in just a few hours.
Reese and the Sky have attracted some major celebrities courtside, such as Lil Durk, Chance the Rapper, Latto, and Dwyane Wade.
Reese came into the league with immense stardom, having already made a name for herself as one of the most popular women’s basketball players on any level while playing with the LSU Tigers.
She is currently averaging 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. She trails Wilson as the league’s leader in rebounding, with the Aces center averaging 12.0 rebounds per game.
But the rookie’s impact isn’t just limited to the courts of the WNBA.
Reese currently has over 3.8 million followers on Instagram and over 565,000 followers on X. Her social media presence has been able to attract millions of new viewers to the WNBA, and it’s clear that Wilson, the MVP frontrunner, is tipping her hat to the young star.
