AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly just hours away from finally striking an agreement for the transfer of Emerson Royal this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur have been busy in the summer transfer window with Ange Postecoglou keen to break into the Champions League places with the Lilywhites.
Spurs have signed Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray and the teenager looks to be one of the more exciting signings for the Lilywhites this summer.
As well as this, sources have told HITC that Tottenham are prepared to pay £65 million for Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke this summer and that could prove to be a bargain for the Lilywhites.
Whilst these signings could be key, sales will also be pivotal for the club this summer.
According to Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan are hours away from closing the deal to sigh Tottenham right-back Emerson Royal.
According to Di Marzio, tomorrow there will be a key meeting between AC Milan and Tottenham where the agreement for the Brazilian defender to transfer to the San Siro is expected to be completed.
Royal had made his desire to leave the club clear in an interview he did last month and a move to AC Milan has always looked to be the most likely option.
The Brazilian defender, Royal has fallen down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou despite the Spurs boss previously branding him “outstanding“ when speaking to Football.London.
The impressive form of Pedro Porro, who is the club’s first-choice option, has cemented his place as the starting right-back and a move away for Royal is now on the cards.
If a deal to take the Brazilian defender to the San Siro is struck tomorrow, which is expected, then Spurs would receive some much-needed funds.
Spurs’ number one striker target Solanke is expected to cost the Lilywhites £65 million and without Champions League football, this could be difficult to achieve.
If, however, Spurs can sell Royal and potentially midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, due to the amount of options ahead of the Danish ace, then they would bring in more funds.
What is clear is that a new number nine is needed and Solanke would certainly fit that bill.
