Breaking: No one can inspire more than Hamilton, says… see more

The impact that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has had on motorsport has been praised by former team manager Eddie Jordan, who said that “no one can inspire and drag like him”.

Two weeks ago at Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton resumed his career as a Formula One race winner after a two-year break. Before his eighth victory at Silverstone, the seven-time world champion—who now has 104 race wins in Formula One—won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021.

The Briton ended a 56-race wait for a victory at the British Grand Prix. After his emotional win at Silverstone, Hamilton admitted to having doubts about whether he would be able to win again.

Despite his decade-long run of success with Mercedes, Hamilton is about to kick off the last stint of his career with the German marque. Having announced his shock departure from Mercedes in February, the 104-time F1 race winner is set to join Ferrari next year.

Expanding on Hamilton’s impact in Formula One, Jordan said: “Hamilton has conveyed joy and interest in motorsport and F1 in particular to the general public.”

“He is an inspirer and a driver and the proof is the duels he had on the track with Lando Norris and George Russell also waiting to welcome Oliver Bearman in F1.

“I believe Hamilton conveyed to these young drivers the awareness that they can succeed more than anyone else and it was special what happened at Silverstone.

Reflecting on Hamilton’s last win on home turf at Silverstone, Jordan said: “It may have seemed easy what these champions did, but I guarantee you that the race was very difficult, epic, it took very little to make a fatal mistake.”

“At the end of the race, then, it was exciting to see Hamilton running to the stands. The whole racetrack has taken life. Stratospheric,” concluded Jordan.
