AC Milan are the latest team to be linked with a potential move for Juventus outcast Federico Chiesa, but the management have various things to reflect on.
As Calciomercato.com recall, Chiesa has been ‘publicly dumped’ by Juve who have officially put him on the market, leaving him out of the squad for preseason games and even removing his shirt from sale in the club shop.
Chiesa is looking for a club before August 30, the date on which the summer transfer window will end, but said club must be willing to satisfy the €20m asking price that the Bianconeri have set. The forward wants a pay rise from his next club, which means going from €5m to €6m net per year.
The Italian is in no rush to leave Turin, knowing that in the worst case scenario he could then be available on a free transfer in June 2025 or for an even lower sum in the winter transfer window. His agent Fali Ramadani is talking to many clubs like Napoli, Lazio and Inter as well as some abroad.
The report confirms the news from La Gazzetta dello Sport who claim that Chiesa has also been offered to Milan, given they have moved Christian Pulisic to attacking midfielder and could sign another winger.
There will be budgetary assessments from Geoffrey Moncada and co. but also reflections on the player’s age (26), his injury history, his role (Milan have other and more pressing needs) and his contractual situation.
Milan, like other clubs, are wondering whether it is really worth investing in a player who in a few months will be available on a free.
