Luka Doncic is a proud father to one little girl.
The Dallas Mavericks star may be focused on bringing home the championship title for his team now, but at home his focus is on his infant daughter, Gabriela. Doncic and his fiancée Anamaria Goltes announced her birth on Dec. 1, 2023, in a sweet post on Instagram.
Since then, Doncic has been proud to represent his daughter on the court, often wearing sneakers with her name written on them followed by a heart.
Just after welcoming Gabriela, Doncic and his team lost a big game to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the point guard was still beaming over the “happiest day of [his] life,” he told reporters after the game, per Sports Illustrated.
From her first days to what sport her dad is hopeful she’ll play, here’s everything to know about Luca Doncic’s daughter.
Doncic first shared the happy news that his daughter was born with a sweet photo of the swaddled newborn holding his and Goltes’ fingers on Instagram. “Gabriela ” he wrote in the caption, announcing her name.
While the NBA star took the day off work for Gabriela’s birth, missing the Mavericks game against the Memphis Grizzlies, he was back on the court the following day, repping sneakers with Gabriela’s name etched onto them.
“First of all, it was the happiest day of my life. I got the baby, but then today’s game was a big rollercoaster, too,” he said after the Mavericks lost. “I’m so sad we didn’t win this game, but man, we gave a big, big effort.”
In the days after her birth, Doncic told a reporter that while he was “more tired” on the court since welcoming Gabriela, she was sleeping well and is a “great baby.”
A couple of months after having Gabriela, Doncic was still basking in newborn bliss, sharing in a press conference after a game that he’d never been happier.
“I’m much more happy now,” he said. “There are some nights I don’t sleep that much but Ana is doing most of the job. This is really a life-changing thing for the better, and there’s nothing happier than this, and because of that, I’m the happiest man in the world.”
