REPORT: After humiliating LeBron James with a dunk during the USA vs. France game, Guerschon Yabusele is currently trending…..see more

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been atop FIBA’s 2024 Paris Olympics MVP ladder, as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer has been dominant in all facets of the game. Entering Saturday’s gold medal game against France, James led Team USA in points, assists, rebounds, and field goal percentage.

James has also been impressive on the defensive end for Team USA throughout the Olympics, but was caught on the wrong end of a poster dunk on Saturday.

Sliding over to take a charge against France forward Guerschon Yabusele, James was a bit late to the spot and got put on a poster by the former Boston Celtics forward.

Yabusele was selected 16th overall in the 2016 NBA draft by Boston, and played 74 games for them before being waived. Entering play on Saturday, Yabusele was averaging 12.8 points per game on 55.0 percent shooting.

This dunk over James has immediately become an all-time moment for Yabusele.

Wanting another shot in the NBA, Yabusele told Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe ahead of this gold medal game that he would like the Celtics to bring him back.

“Just had a moment with Guerschon Yabusele, who recognized me and said smiling, ‘You gotta tell (the Celtics) to bring me back,'” Washburn wrote on X. “Yabu was a former BOS first-round pick. Plays now for Real Madrid.”

Showing he can perform at a high level against some of the NBA’s best players, perhaps Yabusele will get another opportunity in the league after his run at the Paris Olympics. Even if Yabusele does not play again in the NBA, his play this summer will be talked about for a long time.
