REPORT: Monaco lowers Fofana’s asking price by €10 million; Milan hopes to finalise a deal…..see more

Monaco have lowered their asking price for Youssouf Fofana once again to give AC Milan hope of finally concluding a long transfer saga, a report claims.

Di Marzio reported a couple of weeks ago that Manchester United and Atletico Madrid had entered the race for Fofana and that this had complicated things for Milan, because Monaco sensed the chance to get a better price and upped their demands to €35m.

According to Manuele Baiocchini who spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews), Monaco have returned to asking for €25m for Fofana, but he confirms that they did raise it to €10m more than that because of offers that arrived from England, namely from West Ham.

There is still no agreement with Milan, who will not go as far as that figure given that in about 10 months the French midfielder will be available on a free transfer. The Rossoneri are pushing hard to try and get the Ligue 1 club to let him go for a more reasonable fee.

The France international was not involved in Monaco’s friendly against Barcelona yesterday which could be a sign that he is on the way out, while Calciomercato.com reported that Gerry Cardinale’s arrival in Italy is likely to result in a further acceleration for Fofana.
