Nottingham Forest will host Newcastle in the standout tie following the draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The first domestic cup competition of the season, got underway this week with 70 sides from across the EFL competing in first-round matches. The winners of those ties are now joined by the 13 Premier League teams not involved in European competition, as well as recently relegated Luton and Burnley.
The Magpies, one of the top-flight teams entering the competition at this stage will travel to the City Ground to face Forest as Eddie Howe looks to end the long wait for silverware on Tyneside. West Ham are also involved at this point, with no European commitments under new manager Julen Lopetegui and will take on fellow Premier League side Bournemouth.
Liverpool won last season’s competition after beating Chelsea at Wembley, with both finalists in the draw for the third round. They will be joined by Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
