The new season will be difficult to start, Sacchi cautions Fonseca….see more

Arrigo Sacchi believes that Inter are the favourites to defend their Scudetto crown, and revealed some of the doubts he has about AC Milan under Paulo Fonseca.

After the last friendly played at San Siro against Monza in the Silvio Berlusconi trophy, Milan are getting ready to begin their 2024-25 campaign for real with a game against Torino at the same stadium on Saturday night.

The results from preseason are encouraging as the Rossoneri came out on top against Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona out in the United States, while there were many positives in terms of the style of play but also some issues that Fonseca admitted that he wants to work on.

Sacchi spoke during an interview with Il Giornale ahead of the start of the Serie A season and he offered his thoughts on the campaign ahead, with his comments relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“I’m not playing the fortune teller but I’ll just say that Inter is definitely the favourite team for next season because they are the most structured. They will have to be very humble to be able to repeat the brilliant results.”
