All joy as intense day awaits Fofana

Youssouf Fofana arrived in Milano yesterday and this morning, he began the medical tests at La Madonnina clinic. A packed day awaits the midfielder schedule-wise, as highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The negotiations were long and tiring but in the end, Milan got the deal over the line. The technical director Geoffrey Moncada was decisive for the move and there were few doubts, even if it took some time to get everything right.

As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), it will be an intense day for Fofana. He arrived for the medical tests this morning and after that, he will travel back to the Melia Hotel to get ready for the press conference. The latter is scheduled for 14:30 at Casa Milan.

Then, after speaking about his move to Milan for the first time, he will head to the San Siro for Milan’s season opener against Torino. At half-time, he will step onto the pitch to get his welcome from the fans, which should be quite the view given the anticipation for the signing.

Starting next week, he will be in training with his new teammates and considering that he had been working separately at Monaco, we should expect a period of ‘settling in’. Two years later, have Milan finally found their replacement for Franck Kessie?
