REPORT: Camarda given a platform to shine… see more

Milan Futuro found themselves a goal down during their Coppa Italia Lega Pro Round of 32 tie against Novara on Saturday night, but two quick goals turned the game on its head. The scorer of those goals? You guessed it, Francesco Camarda.

As Calciomercato.com write, there were more positives for Daniele Bonera to digest after beating Lecco in the previous round, as the Futuro side continue to get used to playing against players who are several years older.

In the next round Milan Futuro will face Torres, a team with many experienced players, but the next commitment is against Virtus Entella in the first round of Serie C. Going into that game, Bonera has already established an important base on which to build the season.

For example, Lapo Nava is a great goalkeeper for the level, Davide Bartesaghi as a central defender is growing with each game and could provide a solid pairing with new signing Gabriele Minotti, while the likes of Kevin Zeroli, Mattia Liberali, Chaka Traore and Diego Sia all provide speed and dynamism.

Then, of course, there is Camarda. The 16-year-old was the one who decided the match against Novara with his first brace as a professional as he buried a penalty with confidence and then headed in a cross from Chaka.

Nobody ever doubted his finishing but what was positively surprising about the match against Novara was the work that Camarda did for the team; protecting the ball by withstanding the physical impact of the opposing defenders, participating in the build-up at the right moments and pressing hard .

Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was clear in his press conference alongside Youssouf Fofana: another striker will not arrive from the market so as not to close the path for talents. Zlatan did not name him directly because he knows better, but we can all infer who he was talking about.
