SAD: Longo has claimed that Ismael Bennacer was badly advised about….see more

Italian journalist Daniele Longo has claimed that Ismael Bennacer was badly advised about his chances of securing a move away from AC Milan this summer.

Speaking to Radio Rossonera, the Calcioemrcato.com journalist explained that Bennacer may have acted differently this summer if he had not been given certain information by his agents.

It has been clear for much of the summer that the Algerian midfielder would be very open to leaving Milan and that feeling became mutual as Milan started to pursue more midfield targets.

Longo thinks that someone close to Bennacer led him to believe that if he tried to leave Milan, there would be very interesting offers arriving but that is not how it has materialised.

We are now at a point of the window where Milan actively want to sell the player to make space for others but if a move cannot be found, the working relationship has been strained and Bennacer could have minimal involvement for at least half a season.

“In my opinion he was badly advised. I don’t know if by his agents or the intermediaries…they made him believe that he could leave with very favourable offers, but in reality the possible suitors never presented themselves in a concrete way,” Longo said.

The player that Milan would like to sign in the event of Bennacer being sold is Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach.

There is also still a desire to bring Tammy Abraham in from AS Roma but his arrival is more linked to Luka Jovic being sold.
