Milan Primavera started the season with two convincing wins but the first defeat arrived today, taking on Genoa away from home. Despite taking the lead, the Rossoneri were unable to clinch another three points.

Federico Guidi was brought in to replace Ignazio Abate ahead of the season and he certainly started well, with two wins in two games. Today, however, the first defeat arrived as Genoa prevailed 3-1 on their home turf.

Diego Sie opened the score for Milan, though, as he found the back of the net in the 11th minute. Genoa grew into the game after that and scored the equaliser in the 35th minute. Things got even worse before the break as Nirash Perera received his second yellow card and was sent off.

In the second half, Genoa scored twice and thus clinched their second win of the season, bouncing back from the defeat to Bologna last week. As for Milan, it was obviously not the result they wanted but the red card made it very difficult in that second half.
