OFFICIAL: AC Milan & Inter Milan Comply With UEFA Financial Fair Play Rules; Roma is Fined….see more

Inter Milan and AC Milan have once again managed to comply with UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations, thus avoiding undesired consequences.

The two clubs had trouble remaining within the set parameters in the years that followed the Covid-19 pandemic.

They, alongside a host of other European clubs, signed settlements with UEFA to ward off immediate sanctions.

This agreement forces the clubs to operate within certain financial margins while remaining under scrutiny.

On Friday, UEFA confirmed that Inter and their crosstown rivals have succeeded in their task, managing to comply with FFP regulations as well as the settlements signed with the organization.

AC Milan (ITA), FC Internazionale Milano (ITA), AS Monaco FC (FRA), Olympique de Marseille (FRA), Paris Saint-Germain (FRA), Beşiktaş JK (TUR), Trabzonspor A.Ş (TUR) and Royal Antwerp FC (BEL) were all found to have fulfilled the intermediate financial targets set for the financial year 2023,” reads the statement posted on UEFA’s official website.

The Nerazzurri have sold some of their biggest squad assets in previous years to balance the books. This includes Romelu Lukaku, Achraf Hakimin and Andre Onana.

Moreover, the Italian champions’ overall positive results on the domestic and continental levels offered a significant boost to the club’s finances.

This yielded improved prize money – especially during the 2022/23 Champions League campaign – in addition to grander exposure and more enticing commercial endorsements and partnerships.

On the contrary, Roma fell just outside of the required parameters. Therefore, the Italian capital side received a fine worth €2 million.

“AS Roma (ITA) slightly exceeded the intermediate target set for the financial year 2023 and was imposed a fine of € 2 million,” revealed the same UEFA statement.
