Samuel Chukwueze has been tasked to extend his recent form for AC Milan to do damage against both Benin and Rwanda in 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
Chukwueze posted some eye-catching displays in pre-season for Milan and former international Victor Ikpeba has told soccerhuz.com the exciting winger ought to bring this form for the Super Eagles to fly past Benin and Rwanda.
“Chukwueze has looked very sharp in training here in Uyo, like many of the players in camp,” Ikpeba remarked.
“We all want him to now bring his club form to the Super Eagles.
“If he did that, the Super Eagles will sweep past both Benin and Rwanda.”
The 1997 African Footballer of the Year said there is an obsession by other teams to bring down “Giants of Africa” Nigeria and so the need for the Super Eagles to always step up their game.
“Since the 80s and 90s, there has been obsession by other African teams to beat us, this has continued and as such we have to continue to fight for everything,” he said.
“We have the quality, but we need to prove it where it matters most – on the pitch.
“You don’t win by what you did in past.
“And the more reason that they have to live with the criticisms because everyone demands more from them.”
