SO SAD: The two main reasons ticket sales for Milan-Liverpool have been slow….see more

Tickets are not exactly flying off the shelf for AC Milan’s first Champions League game against Liverpool, and a report has spoken about the potential reasons why.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, Milan are not exactly experiencing their best moment at present,  not only in terms of results but in general the atmosphere surrounding the club is far from positive.

A good way to measure the temperature of the fans’ hearts is ticket sales, and one week from today the Rossoneri will welcome Liverpool to San Siro. As two clubs with a combined 13 Champions League wins, there should be a lot of demand.

However, the enthusiasm is ‘very cold’ at the moment towards the club, the coach and the team. The Rossoneri supporters have always shown up in droves no matter what the occasion is, yet the game is a far way from being sold out.

The headline reads: ‘Liverpool are coming, but the fans are cold’. According to the author of the piece, there are two main causes: the price of the tickets that has been set by the club, coupled with the poor results on the field.

The cost of tickets is certainly high but it is not too far from that for the same match played in the 2021 group. The real reason is probably linked to the complicated moment and the discontent towards the choices made by the directors.

We will see if in the final seven days of ticket sales the charm and thirst for a great European night will ‘make a dent in the wounded hearts of Milan fans’. It is possible that fans will purchase them from the box office before Saturday’s game against Venezia, too.
