Shocking: Milan Star Midfielder Publicly Backs Under-Pressure… see more

Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek insists the Rossoneri players ‘fully believe’ in under-pressure manager Paulo Fonseca. During an interview with The Times in the build-up to Milan’s Serie A clash against newly-promoted Venezia, the Englishman backed the Portuguese tactician amid talks he could soon get sacked.

“We all believe fully in the manager. In training we’re working every day. But I think in the moment when things are not going so well, you have to take a step back. Because sometimes it can feel like it’s all coming down,” the Milan star said.

“Fans want to win, also we want to win. But we have to take a look at the big picture. We have a new manager, we need time to learn his ways and get things right. And I think when we do that, we’ll be winning. I think we just need to work as much as we can on the pitch and keep believing. And things will come together.“

Fonseca couldn’t have imagined a worse way to kick off his managerial tenure at Milan as he failed to win his first three league matches in charge of the San Siro outfit before September’s international break came to his rescue.

With Milan staring down the barrel of their joint-worst Serie A start in 65 years, there’s no margin for error against Venezia. Despite their underwhelming form under the former Roma manager, the Rossoneri head into proceedings as considerable favorites, keen to open their account for the season.
