AC Milan look prepared to do more business with Chelsea when the transfer window opens again in January.
Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both joined AC Milan from Chelsea last summer. They reunited with Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori, who also used to play at Stamford Bridge.
Giroud is no longer at the San Siro, with the striker moving to Los Angeles FC in July. Milan signed Alvaro Morata to replace him, while Tammy Abraham, another former Chelsea player, also joined Paulo Fonseca’s side during the last transfer window.
With the centre-forward position addressed, the Italian club could concentrate on bringing in a midfielder in January, with Carney Chukwuemeka said to be on their radar.
Milan were interested in Chukwuemeka in the previous transfer window. In fact, it was claimed that Chelsea wanted Chukwuemeka to join Milan amid their interest.
A move failed to materialise, though, but it does not look like that this is the end of it.
According to Calciomercato, Milan could go back in for the midfielder after making an attempt to sign him just before the transfer window closed.
Chelsea fans were unhappy with Chukwuemeka’s exclusion from Saturday’s matchday squad. The 20-year-old was left out of the Bournemouth game, while Cesare Casadei was included, disappointing supporters.
Milan remain one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a Champions League side. Trading Chelsea for them would not be a bad move for Chukwuemeka.
As for Milan, they would be getting a youngster with a lot of potential. “Carney is one of the most exciting young players in Europe,” Todd Boehly told Chelsea’s official website after the club had signed Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa back in 2022.
The England U20 international would probably love to make it at Chelsea and prove himself there.
However, while Chelsea are ready to give Chukwuemeka a chance, the above looks unlikely to happen, given all of the options that Enzo Maresca has. The former Villa youngster is yet to feature under the Italian this season.
