Tammy Abraham got his first goal in an AC Milan shirt tonight during a 4-0 rout of Venezia at San Siro, and he spoke about the emotion of scoring for his new club.
Milan were winless in their first three games coming into the home game against the newly-promoted side, but they set the tone for what was a very different evening by scoring after 90 seconds through Theo Hernandez’s effort from a narrow angle.
A ricochet from a Christian Pulisic corner ended up going in to make it 2-0 and though Matteo Gabbia celebrated the goal eventually went to Youssouf Fofana, and then two penalties in a few minutes put the game beyond doubt.
Abraham was brought down by Joronen for the first and Christian Pulisic tucked it away comfortably, then Rafael Leao was fouled for the second and the English striker was handed the ball, making no mistake from 12 yards and getting the fourth goal in an eventual 4-0 win.
The Roma loanee spoke to both DAZN and Sky straight after the full-time whistle to assess what was a brilliant night for him personally but also for the team as they got a big first win, with MilanNews relaying his comments.
How does that first goal feel?
“I haven’t realised it yet but when I get home I’ll think about it and understand how beautiful it was. The important thing is to continue giving my best.
“For me it’s a dream, I came here to help the team as much as possible. My first home game, I felt great sensations in front of an incredible crowd.”
The next two games against Liverpool and Inter are big…
“We are confident because we have a great team. Confidence because we have to continue working in this way and on this path, we are a great team.”
What is it like playing alongside Pulisic again?
“We were together in previous seasons, we know what a special player he is. From today we must gain confidence also thanks to his performances.”

“To be fit, to feel good and to help the team in the best way possible.”
Did Rafael Leao push you to take a penalty?
“Pulisic is the penalty taker, but Leao wanted me to score. It’s nice to have team-mates who want your best.”
