Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a message to Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham after helping Liverpool beat AC Milan. The Reds claimed a 3-1 victory over the Serie A giants in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Alexander-Arnold played a key role in the victory at the San Siro, providing the assist for Ibrahima Konate’s header to equalise for Liverpool. Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai were also on the score-sheet as the Reds emerged as convincing winners in their away trip to Italy.
Arne Slot and his relatively new side will now look ahead to facing AFC Bournemouth this weekend in their return to Premier League action. Just hours after helping Liverpool defeat Milan, Alexander-Arnold sent a two-word social media message to England teammate and good friend Bellingham.
Bellingham made his return from injury as Madrid picked up a 3-1 win over Stuttgart in their Champions League opener on Tuesday evening. The England international posted several photos of himself on Instagram during the game, accompanied by the one-word caption: “Back.”
Alexander-Arnold, a teammate of Bellingham’s with England, left a comment on the Madrid midfielder’s post. The Liverpool vice-captain wrote: “We back,” which received more than 9,000 likes.
The comment from Alexander-Arnold comes amid some uncertainty surrounding his future at Liverpool. The Reds academy graduate’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, leading to speculation over whether or not an extension will be agreed, with Real mooted to be in market for him.
The post from Bellingham was also liked by several Liverpool stars including Van Dijk, Szoboszlai, Lewis Koumas and even ex-Reds striker Daniel Sturridge. Madrid have been tentatively linked with a push for Alexander-Arnold, on the proviso he does not extend his stay with Liverpool.
