Álvaro Morata was on the cusp of a Saudi Arabian move. Instead of going to the Middle East, however, he decided that he wanted to sign with AC Milan and be a part of Paulo Fonseca’s project at San Siro.

Now, just a few months after his arrival, he is already an important player on and off the pitch.

The well-known journalist, Matteo Moretto, during the usual segment of ‘The Daily Briefing’ explained how the ex Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Juventus, and Chelsea centre-forward was on the verge of joining another club.

, after missing out on Joshua Zirkzee at the start of the summer and with Olivier Giroud heading to Los Angeles, Milan needed a striker to lead the line this summer, and they stepped forward to sign Álvaro Morata.

At one point, though, it seemed like an impossible deal. Morata was definitely en route to Saudi Arabia. He was on the verge of transferring to Al-Qadsiah, where Nacho Fernandez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang now play, and Morata had almost agreed to leave. The two clubs (Atlético Madrid and Al-Qadsiah) were about to send the documents for review and signing, but at the last moment, Morata changed his mind accepted Milan’s offer.
