USMNT star Christian Pulisic has been labelled “CONCACAF’s best player” after his incredible start to the season at AC Milan.
The USMNT star has had a flying start to the 2024-25 campaign and boasts of having scored against Liverpool in the Champions League and against Inter in the Derby della Madonnina to inspire his side to a 2-1 victory over their bitter crosstown rivals in Serie A.
Pulisic had a tough summer with the USMNT as he failed to inspire his nation beyond the group stages at the Copa America. The Stars and Stripes were subsequently beaten and held by Canada and New Zealand, respectively, during the September international break. However, he continues to fire on all cylinders with his club and has six goal contributions in as many matches this season.
In an ESPN show titled Football Americas, Herculez Gomez hailed Pulisic as the best player in CONCACAF for his recent heroics.
The former U.S. international said: “This is the best Christian Pulisic we’ve seen. I don’t want to hear about the lockdown Pulisic. This is a new version of Pulisic. CONCACAF’s best player at the moment. He saved Paulo Fonseca’s job because that would have been seven in a row if they would have lost to Inter. He saves his job. This is vintage Pulisic. He is on a tear. There’s no stopping Cristian Pulisic. When we ask him to be a leader, he leads in his own way.”
Pulisic has 31 goal contributions in Serie A since the start of last season, which sees him lead the chart along with Inter’s Lautaro Martinez. The former Chelsea winger has seemingly reached a new level since swapping Stamford Bridge for San Siro and will be targeting his first trophy with the Rossoneri this term.
Pulisic will hope to add to his ever-increasing goal-tally when he gets back in action against Leece on Friday in Milan’s next Serie A fixture.
