Rafael Leao sent out a message to critics after he helped Milan to beat Inter in the Derby della Madonnina. ‘They been trying to take my smile.’
The versatile winger seemed to enjoy the change of approach with Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham together in the 2-1 victory on Sunday evening.
Before that, Leao had been subjected to a lot of criticism from fans and the media over his attitude and general level of performances.
With that in mind, the Portugal international posted a message to his Instagram Stories today that sent a clear signal.
“They been trying to take out the smile of my face… But they can’t, that’s my strength.”
The 25-year-old has contributed one goal and three assists for Milan so far this season in six appearances between Serie A and the Champions League.
He is the highest-paid player in the Rossoneri squad and recently signed the new contract to June 2028, with a release clause believed to be set at €175m.
