Liverpool mid-field star recalls source of pride after playing against Milan……. see more

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has revisited the game that he played at San Siro last month against AC Milan in the Champions League, revealing that it is a ‘source of pride’.

Things started brilliantly for Milan in that game when Christian Pulisic drilled a low shot inside the far post less than three minutes into the game, but then Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk each scored headers from set-pieces to turn the game on its head before the break.

Liverpool hit the woodwork twice, then Dominik Szoboszlai was on hand to turn in a third from close range and effectively put the game to bed, meaning that Arne Slot’s side were able to celebrate three points at San Siro.

Mac Allister spoke to Sky on the eve of the match that the Reds will play at Anfield against Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna in the second game of the Champions League, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Not much. I have an Italian passport, yes. I played against an Italian team for the first time against Milan, the Italian culture is similar to the Argentine one. For me, the Italian history and having played against a club like the Rossoneri are a source of pride.”
