AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze has restated his commitment to AC Milan after his side secured a 1-0 win against Udinese at the San Siro on Saturday.
Making his first start since August, the 25-year-old quickly made his mark, netting his first goal of the season just 13 minutes into the game.
Despite AC Milan being reduced to 10 men after Tijjani Reijnders was shown a straight red card for a foul on Sandi Lovric in the 29th minute, the Rossoneri held their ground.
Udinese had two goals disallowed, but Milan’s solid defence ensured the hosts walked away with all three points.
Speaking after the match, Chukwueze emphasized the importance of the victory in achieving the team’s objectives for the season
“It was very nice. It was a good game for the team. We defended well, and the team spirit was good. We needed this win.
“Now, we focus on Tuesday’s game. It’s a very good feeling to score and win this game,” Chukwueze told DAZN, as reported by Milan Posts
“I think it’s very important for us, the coach, and our confidence, so we need to push for more targets.”
This marked Chukwueze’s first goal in a home league match since February 27, 2023, when he scored for Villarreal against Getafe in La Liga.
With this crucial win, AC Milan climbs to fourth place in the standings, with 14 points from eight matches.
Next up for the Rossoneri is a UEFA Champions League clash against Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge.
