SAD NEWS: ‘I was hurting and hustling at the same time’…see more

Rafael Leao produced a performance right out of the top drawer last night as AC Milan pulled off a brilliant 3-1 victory away against Real Madrid.

Leao is rightly getting plenty of praise in the media this morning after having a hand in all three of the goals that Milan scored, which of course also comes after a very difficult moment including three consecutive games started on the bench in the league.

He won the corner from which Malick Thiaw’s opener came, he forced Lunin to save a shot that was parried and opened the door for Alvaro Morata to make it 2-1, then he served Tijjani Reijnders after a dribble to seal the win.

The Portuguese winger took to social media after the game with a slide post on Instagram and a quote from American rapper Lil Durk: “I was hurting and hustling at the same time… I still ain’t let sh** stop me.”

Now it will be up to Leao to be able to exploit the positive wave of this performance to be able to ride it for the rest of the season, something Paulo Fonseca is hoping for too.
