Mm: Serie A Referee Blasted For Poor Decisions In Inter vs AC Milan…see more

Referee Simone Sozza committed several unforgivable mistakes in last night’s Supercoppa Italiana clash between Inter and AC Milan.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Sozza’s decisions directly affected the outcome of an enthralling title showpiece in Riyadh.

Inter unfathomably squandered a two-goal cushion in the second half, letting Milan walk away with a 3-2 win.

Simone Inzaghi’s men seemed in cruising control of the game.

However, Sozza threw a spanner in the works, laying the foundation for Milan’s remarkable recovery.

Eventually, Mehdi Taremi and Lautaro Martinez’s heroics were all for nothing.

Indeed, the 37-year-old undid Inter’s hard work in the blink of an eye.

Sozza failed to show two yellow cards in the opening 45 minutes.

First, he didn’t book Hakan Calhanoglu for a late challenge on Yunus Musah in the 13th minute.

Then, he had another oversight. Theo Hernandez deliberately tackled Denzel Dumfries in the 33rd minute.

However, Sozza didn’t sanction the Frenchman, awarding a throw-in instead.

Yet, he could’ve gotten away had it not been for an inconceivable decision not to give Inter a free kick for Alvaro Morata’s foul.

Indeed, the Spaniard violated the rules to rob Kristjan Asllani of the ball in the build-up to Milan’s first goal.

Sozza didn’t spot the foul, only to give the Rossoneri a goal-worthy free kick seconds later.
