It’ll be difficult for the Los Angeles Lakers to top their latest trade for Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, but the organization may be up for the challenge.
In another shocking move, the franchise could swap a father-son duo for a valuable Cleveland Cavaliers center.
“We already talked about the best team in the West, so let’s now propose a trade for the best team in the Eastern Conference,” Clutch Points’ Bailey Bassett wrote Friday.
“We’ve seen a LeBron James reunion with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers before. So, why couldn’t it happen again?”

In Bassett’s trade proposal, the Lakers would send LeBron and Bronny James to the Cavaliers for Allen, Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, Tristan Thompson, and a first-round pick.
James, a 21-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion, started his illustrious NBA career with the Cavaliers in 2003.
While James didn’t achieve his desired team success during his first stint with the franchise, he immediately solidified himself as a dominant force in the league.
From getting defenders on their heels by putting pressure on the rim to elevating for dazzling layups and dunks, James ensured opponents felt his presence on the hardwood nightly.
After departing from the Cavaliers in 2010 and spending four successful seasons with the Miami Heat, James returned to Cleveland, hoping to guide the franchise to its first championship.
In 2016, James helped the Cavaliers defeat the Golden State Warriors in a thrilling seven-game NBA finals series, giving Cleveland fans a legitimate reason to rejoice.
While James’ career is nearing the end, it would be exhilarating to witness the accomplished forward compete with the Cavaliers one final time alongside Bronny.
On the other hand, the Lakers would receive a highly efficient big man in Allen, who’s having his way in the paint during the 2024-25 campaign.
The Texas product averages 13.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game on 70.5% field goal shooting this season.
Bassett’s trade idea would have been unlikely before the Doncic news, but the NBA world has learned to expect the unexpected.
