Marseille ripete il tentativo di estate, ma Bennacer cambia

Just like during the most recent summer window there is talk of Ismael Bennacer leaving AC Milan, and it is Marseille that have come forward again.

Rewinding back to the summer, The most likely destination seemed to be Saudi Arabia for Bennacer heading into deadline day, and then it appeared that the Algerian was destined to remain, until other news broke.

Atletico Madrid came forward to express an interest before Diego Simeone poured cold water on things by stating that their mercato is closed, yet Marseille then emerged as a late hope for the Algerian.

In the end the former Empoli man would stay and he suffered a serious injury that he has only just come back from. Sergio Conceicao has used him as part of his midfield rotations and the idea of a January exit seemed minute.

Fabrizio Romano reports that after Ismael Kone’s exit, Olympique Marseille asked Milan for Bennacer on an initial loan with an option to buy.

An initial approach has been made with Marseille directors Mehdi Benatia and Pablo Longoria working on it, as Alexis Bernard of Le10Sport first reported.

Milan have been linked with some potential last-minute midfield options such as Gedson Fernandes and Warren Bondo, but with so little time left it will be hard to find a replacement.
