Jimenez dovrebbe iniziare contro la Roma – Leao “non è stato al 100% per settimane”

Alex Jimenez is now expected to start for AC Milan tonight against Roma, a journalist has claimed, with Rafael Leao not feeling 100%.

According to Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jimenez is now expected to get a starting spot tonight in the Coppa Italia against Roma and he will play in the attack as well, not at full-back.

Leao is the leading candidate to give up his place. The journalist states that the Portuguese winger ‘has not been 100% for two or three weeks, like Pulisic’.

That means that Christian Pulisic is also a potential option to give way, potentially even during the match, given there will be no desire to risk turning any fatigue into a more severe injury.

As a reminder, Jimenez came on at half-time during the 1-1 Derby della Madonnina draw with Inter over the weekend and sadly was the one who gave the ball away leading to the late equaliser.

Sergio Conceicao will maintain faith in him though by starting him in a cup quarter-final, which as a reminder is a one-off game with no extra-time and a penalty shootout only if the teams are tied.

Joao Felix, Riccardo Sottil and Santiago Gimenez and the January signings that should make the bench and can provide a hand with the rotations.
