Fikayo Tomori has opened up on his failed move to Tottenham and why he wanted to stay at AC Milan during the January transfer window.
Tottenham tried to sign Tomori in January as they looked for a new defender, however, the deal could not get done and they looked elsewhere.
Spurs agreed a £25m deal for Tomori with Milan but they were unable to convince the 27-year-old to make the switch to North London.
The former Chelsea man has been at Milan for four years now but this season has been tricky for the defender who has started on just 10 occasions in Serie A.
Speaking after Milan’s win over Roma, Tomori told the media: “I decided to stay here. I feel at home, I’ve been here for four years.
“In the last few years I haven’t played as I
would have liked, but this is my home, I want to play for this shirt”.
Tottenham clearly wanted a central defender who is good on the ball and both Tomori and Danso have proven themselves to be solid passers of the ball.
But in terms of progressing the ball through carries and passing the new Tottenham defender comes out on top.
Danso also leads the way quite comfortably for aerial ability which is something Spurs do need given their weakness at defending set pieces.
