CM: Inzaghi Sums Up Horrific Fiorentina Bad In The First Half, Worse In The Second…see more

Simone Inzaghi feels that against Fiorentina, Inter Milan were “bad in the first half, and worse in the second.”

The Nerazzurri coach didn’t mince words with his comments in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews.

Inter did not just lose to Fiorentina yesterday.

The Nerazzurri put in perhaps the single worst display that they have done since Simone Inzaghi took over as coach.

And it was the first time that Inter have lost by a three-goal margin in six years.

Clearly, there were very few aspects of Inter’s performance that were up to par, or even close to it.

The match was a bit of an odd one. Because it was a continuation of a fixture after a temporary postponement it actually kicked off in the seventeenth minute.

In the first few minutes of play (on the evening) Inter did look to play positively and take the game to Fiorentina.

But after that, everything really unravelled.

“Clearly it was a very bad performance,” said Inter coach Simone Inzaghi after the match. “We didn’t do what we normally do on the pitch.”

“On Monday we have the chance to make for it playing in our own stadium, after a well-deserved loss.”

Inzaghi said that “This wasn’t us.”

“There were signs of it in the first half,” the Nerazzurri coach admitted. “But then in the second, we did even worse.”

As far as Inter’s defensive collapse, Inzaghi commented that “In our last seven away matches, we’d conceded just one goal.”

“Today we conceded three.”

“Maybe in other matches we’ve managed to [stop counterattacks] better.”

“Tonight, there’s nothing that was salvageable,” Inzaghi was clear. “But I’m sure the team will react, as it has always done.”
