Milan and Ibrahimovic enfurecidos con Conceiçao – report

Il Corriere dello Sport reports Sergio Conceiçao is already under scrutiny at Milan for inconsistent results and some claims that have irritated Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Milan and Red Bird advisor Ibrahimovic are not entirely happy with new coach Conceiçao, who replaced Paulo Fonseca in December 2024.

Conceiçao has a better point-per-game average than his predecessor (1,83 against 1,58), but the Rossoneri remain seven points below the top four with a game in hand and lost in the first leg of the Champions League knockout playoff against Feyenoord on Wednesday.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Ibrahimovic seemed unhappy in the stands when he saw Conceiçao replace Santiago Gimenez and Rafael Leao with Francesco Camarda and Tammy Abraham in the final minutes of the game in Rotterdam.

The former striker, who serves as Red Bird’s advisor, said before the match that Conceiçao “had two teams” available after welcoming five January signings. The coach replied: “In truth, there are more than two, as we have many in the youth sector,” but according to CorSport, Ibra didn’t enjoy his comment.

Conceiçao took over as Milan’s head coach on December 30, 2024. Under his leadership, Milan secured the Supercoppa Italiana title and played six matches in Serie A, achieving three wins, two draws, and one loss, totalling 11 points.

Conceiçao signed a contract until June 2026, but the club can autonomously decide to terminate the agreement at the end of the season. Qualifying for the 2025-26 Champions League is seen as a mandatory requirement to keep the Portuguese beyond the summer.
