Rafael Leao has been linked with several big clubs over the years, including Barcelona, and the Catalan side could make a new attempt in the summer. Especially if AC Milan were to miss out on the Champions League, as a report claims.

Leao has 9 goals and 8 assists for Milan this season but most would agree that there have been too many ups and downs. It’s a debate that remains very complex even among the Rossoneri fans, as we covered in the latest edition of Pub Chat.

In any case, as the quality is undeniable, the winger has been linked with a big move abroad many times before and Barcelona remain interested. According to Mundo Deportivo, they are keen on strengthening the attack for next season and Leao is one of the targets.

He’s not a priority as things stand, according to the report, but he could become a market opportunity if Milan were to miss out on the Champions League. The Rossoneri are currently five points behind 4th place, albeit with a game in hand.

After five and a half years at the club, six in the summer, you could certainly make the argument that moving on could do him well. On the other hand, most Milan fans want a hefty figure to let him go, and the same goes for the management.
