Breaking news: Theo Hernandez releases apology for red card in shock Champions League exit after AC Milan defender’s

Theo Hernandez has issued an apology following his costly sending off in AC Milan’s Champions League exit at the hands of Feyenoord.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Milan were 1-0 up and 1-1 on aggregate with Feyenoord in their Champions League play-off tie when Hernandez picked up a second yellow and was sent off for simulation. The Dutch side went on to equalise and advance to the last 16 of the competition at Milan’s expense. Two days on from that disappointment, the France international has apologised to his team-mates and fans for his actions.

WHAT THEO HERNANDEZ SAID

The Instagram post translates to: “Football is unpredictable: it gives us great joys, but also painful moments. Today I feel immense frustration. I apologise to my team-mates for leaving them in 10 and I apologise to the fans who always support us. But this club is a family and together we will recover. Let’s all get back up together.”
