According to what is reported by Tuttosport in this morning’s print edition, now, even the executives at Milan are at risk.
Three months to save what can be saved, try to reach the Champions League through an intense and complex sprint, and a strong feeling that, in the summer, Milan could undergo a new phase of managerial reorganization and a possible technical revolution regarding the bench and the squad.
In short, practically everyone is under observation (including Milan Futuro) because the 2024-25 season for the Rossoneri, up to today, has been insufficient in terms of objectives: out of the Scudetto race for months, eliminated in the Champions League playoffs by Feyenoord after squandering the direct qualification to the round of 16 by losing to Dinamo Zagreb, a Supercoppa win which has the right value but does not save the season at all, a shaky league campaign, and the Coppa Italia still in sight.
The disappointment from being knocked out of the elite European competition is still great, but it’s clear that in light of these poor results, there could be structural changes that, at least on paper, should provide greater stability and eliminate the apathy virus that has settled at Milanello since the Scudetto. It’s no secret that the club is exploring several profiles for the sporting director role, a position that has been missing in Milan’s management and is essential in Italian football.
Andrea Berta, former Atletico Madrid, is one of the top names that has entered Milan’s radar, but he is also being courted by some Premier League giants. The other prominent name is Fabio Paratici, former Juventus sporting director, whose ban will expire in October. More distant, for now, are Igli Tare and François Modesto.
The sporting director role, which would work in coordination with CEO Giorgio Furlani, would allow Moncada to return to heading the scouting department and Ibrahimovic to serve as an advisor. This choice could also impact the future of Milan’s bench, with Sergio Conceição, in turn, being linked to results.
