The elimination from the Champions League has left its mark on AC Milan and it means that nothing other than a win will do against Torino tonight.
As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes this morning, the priority for Sergio Conceiçao and his players is to get back on their feet immediately and the best way to do that is to win tonight at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, a stadium they have won one of their last seven games at.
What is needed to save Milan’s season is a Champions League spot. The Rossoneri can no longer afford to drop too many points along the way and therefore it is essential to return home from Turin with a victory.
“We must consider the match against Torino as our Champions League final,” was what Conceiçao said yesterday in his press conference, which make it very clear how important this evening’s challenge against Paolo Vanoli’s Granata is.
The Milan coach would like to once again field the ‘Fab Four’ from the first minute, even if Joao Felix is not at his best and therefore is not certain of starting from the beginning. The starting eleven for the Rossoneri will instead include Christian Pulisic.
Yesterday, Conceiçao – with the microphones off – also denied having had an argument with the American, quoting Mourinho: “Enough lies. A compatriot of mine here said: I’m not an idiot. Look, I’m not one either and I’m not afraid of anything or anyone.”
Rafael Leao and Santiamo Gimenez should start too, while compared to the match a few days ago against Feyenoord, there will be a change in defence where the injured Kyle Walker will not be there. Alex Jimenez should replace him.
