Roma want to add a top coach ahead of next season.
With Claudio Ranieri set to step down from his current position and become a new senior club executive, Roma’s search for his successor is on.
In today’s report, Sky Sport journalist Paolo Assogna shares the following update.
According to Assogna, Ranieri made personal contact with Ajax’s Farioli – however, the discussions did not go beyond a simple conversation.
Additionally, in recent weeks, a Giallorossi intermediary spoke with Massimiliano Allegri to understand the Tuscan coach’s intentions, but even in this case there have been no developments, at least for the moment.
In the meantime, Roma president Dan Friedkin will be personally involved in the final decision.
Friedkin wants to secure a top coach for Roma at all costs and his main preference is still Carlo Ancelotti whose return is rumored to be Roma’s priority.
England forward Sarah Beckett has extended her contract with Premiership Women’s Rugby title-holders Gloucester-Hartpury.
The 26-year-old has 35 international caps and has won multiple Six Nations championships with the Red Roses.
Beckett, who can play in the second and back row, joined the Circus from Harlequins in 2022 and has been part of the squad that has won the past two league titles.
She has played in every match for this season’s table-toppers since returning from injury in round eight.
“It was a really easy decision for me to make, I loved being a part of this team and I’m excited to see what we can achieve in the future,” she told the club’s website.
“It’s such a good environment to be a part of and the future looks bright for the club. We’re on the verge of doing something really special this season and I’m really happy to play a part in it.”
Gloucester-Hartpury host Bristol Bears in the PWR semi-final on Sunday in a repeat of last season’s final.
The club has not disclosed the length of Beckett’s new deal.
