The Curva Sud Milano issued the following statement earlier this evening addressing the club and fans.
Here is the statement:
“We are only at the beginning of March, and our season is already at its closing credits, or almost. Only two derbies in the Coppa Italia remain for you to regain a shred of dignity or to definitively certify YOUR total failure.”
“Last summer, you continued the chain of mistakes made in the previous one, exalting choices that were blatantly inadequate (and you were warned about this multiple times), ignoring the needs of a fanbase that required something entirely different.”
“At the end of January, you tried to remedy YOUR mistakes, spending everything you could and should have spent in July, thus disowning almost all of the summer choices. However, the lack of any type of planning and the unbreathable atmosphere you have created around Milan have stifled any possibility of a reaction in an environment that is now adrift.”
“The faults of a totally invisible ownership are evident and unjustifiable (Cardinale has not been seen in Milan since September), one that chose to eliminate a key figure like the sporting director—fundamental for building a competitive team and ensuring a constant and constructive presence at Milanello—entrusting instead the image of Milan to collaborators who have distinguished themselves solely through disguises or interviews that go beyond the ridiculous.”
All this cannot serve as an excuse for the other main actors in this disgrace:
The coach, who, compared to his predecessor, has not changed the team’s approach on the pitch in the slightest, even exacerbating internal divisions, with the results and lack of play that we all know.
The players, always supported relentlessly until Thursday, have been protagonists in disgraceful matches such as in Zagreb, Rotterdam, Bologna, and many others—matches salvaged only in the final moments thanks to isolated episodes, otherwise today we would be discussing an even worse record. Many of them, through their performances and attitudes, have shown themselves unworthy of wearing our jersey, amid the absolute silence of a complicit and culpably absent management.
ON SUNDAY, WE WILL BEGIN TO LEAVE YOU ALONE, ENTERING THE STANDS ONLY IN THE 15TH MINUTE, HOPING THAT THE REST OF THE STADIUM DOES THE SAME.
IF WE DO NOT SEE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN PERFORMANCE AND, ABOVE ALL, IN ATTITUDE, WE WILL END UP ABANDONING YOU COMPLETELY, LEAVING YOU “ALONE WITH YOUR SHAME.”
At the end of the year, a profound corporate RESET will be necessary. The American model proposed so far has failed in every possible way. Bold choices, important decisions, and structural changes are needed, with a new leadership composed of football men if there is to be a serious reconstruction of the most glorious club in Italy—bringing fans back to breathe that Milanismo that you have annihilated over these years.”
