AC Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada and the head coach Sergio Conceicao had a chat after the defeat against Bologna on Thursday evening. While trust was reiterated for now, the gravity of the situation was also highlighted.
The Rossoneri had one lifeline left on the top-four race, namely the rescheduled clash against Bologna, but the Rossoblu prevailed after turning 0-1 down to 2-1 up. In short, the situation is now dire for the Rossoneri and Conceicao.
As stated by the Sky Italia reporter Manuele Baiocchini on air last night, as transcribed by MilanNews24, there was ‘a chat’ between Moncada and Conceicao after the defeat. La Repubblica, meanwhile, described it as a heated exchange.
“Yesterday after the match, there was also a chat between Moncada and Conceicao. They are moving forward with him, but yet it’s clear that if things don’t go well against Lazio, the situation could also change,” Baiocchini stated.
Moncada sent a warning of sorts, in other words, and it’s clear that the season has gone off the rails for the club. The initial goal was to fight for the Scudetto, then it was changed to top four, and now it’s keeping some sort of dignity intact.
