Como are enjoying their first season back in the top flight of Italian football, and their head coach Cesc Fabregas is gathering some attention.

As Calciomercato.com write, the latest scalp in what has been a positive season came against Napoli, a 2-1 win that dented the Scudetto hopes for Antonio Conte’s side. Backed by a rich ownership plus star players like Assane Diao and Nico Paz, Fabregas is steering Como to safety comfortably.

Speaking of the former Barcelona midfielder, he is already showing that he has all the potential to be a top coach. He began with the Under 19s at Como, then getting promoted to first team head coach, even if Osian Roberts was down as the manager while Fabregas did his badges.

What might the future hold? Well, Fabregas will obviously want to keep taking steps up so he can test himself, and there are some big clubs in Italy that like what they have seen. First and foremost, it was Roma, who will have to replace Claudio Ranieri.

In recent days, Sportitalia mentioned Fabregas as a name to watch once Simone Inzaghi’s era is over at Inter. The Como boss even said: “Looking at the models to inspire me, Simone Inzaghi strikes me, who with his 3-5-2 and all those movements manages to give life to an incredible anarchy, making it achievable with great work.”

Then there is Milan, who are attracted by his ‘recognisable, fun and effective style of play’. In all likelihood, the Rossoneri will have to go looking for a new coach in June and Fabregas is certainly a name worth watching.
