Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists that he is happy where he is at the Bernabeu and has seemingly ruled out a possible return to Roma ahead of the 2025-26 season, insisting: “I can’t be a coach all my life.”
Roma are on the search for a new, permanent coach ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Claudio Ranieri was appointed on an interim basis until the end of the current season following the dismissal of Ivan Juric in November.
Ranieri will step into a directorship role at the end of 2024-25, and will be involved in the hiring process for his replacement in the dugout.
Several names have already been linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico, including Ancelotti, who spent eight years with the Giallorossi during his playing career.
Ancelotti is still under contract with Real Madrid until the end of the 2025-26 season, and insist that he can’t go on for ever.
“I have great memories. What the future will hold, I don’t know. For now, I’m fine here. I have a contract and I can’t be a coach all my life,” Ancelotti said in a recent radio interview on Rai 2.
He continued: “Ranieri is a great technician, a strategist and he reads the environment of the club well. It’s no surprise the good work he is doing. I doubt he will stop.”
