The circus at AC Milan continues. Following comments made to the Italian press, Sergio Conceicao’s spokesperson Francisco Empis has resigned from his position. He also apologised to the manager for the damage done.
This morning, it was reported by several Italian newspapers that Conceicao was deeply unsatisfied with the situation at Milan, highlighting things such as the lack of support from the club. All of this, however, stemmed from comments leaked by his spokesperson Francisco Empis to the media.
It backfired big time for Empis, as Conceicao immediately made it clear to the club that his actual thoughts are very different. Now, Empis has resigned from his position and also apoligises for his actions, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
“None of the points were validated by coach Sergio Conceicao, nor are they binding on him as a professional. For the mistake made and for the damage to his reputation caused, I immediately resign from my position with the coach,” he began.
“The information published contains several errors and inaccuracies, in particular regarding the relationships between the players, the technical staff and the management of Milan. They do not reflect the truth of the facts, but rather rumours and suppositions without any factual basis.”
You simply couldn’t have made all of this up. The season has been a circus so far for Milan and it could get even worse depending on the upcoming results. Conceicao’s spokesperson making such claims was indeed the last thing the Rossoneri needed.
