Breaking news: Milan lack ‘political weight’ within Lega Serie A what Furlani must decide

The management is a topic of persistent criticism at the moment, and AC Milan must rectify this as soon as physically possible, and the first steps have been taken.

Clarity is something that everyone wants, but very few have the ability to confidently offer, and when it comes to football, the emotions are much higher, as we have seen in recent months.

Criticisms of Milan and their management have been regular, with fans demanding to know everything about the current structure of the club, considering it is massively blurred at this moment, which is not aiding things on the pitch.

In fact, the current structural issues above the pitch are trickling onto the field, and as a result, the criticisms of the team and head coach are then sent everywhere, because there is seemingly no line of power, meaning everyone and no one is at fault.

The Curva Sud recently addressed the management issues, and the first step has been taken with Giorgio Furlani now being named as the main guy below Cardinale.

However, this is not the only step that needs to be taken, and Pietro Mazzarra has written about the situation for Milan News.

Milan will have to be very good at making the right choices for the sports area, because the hierarchies have been clarified and now it’s about putting the good of Milan at the centre of everything. Yes, the good of Milan. A good that will have to pass, inevitably, also from a reassignment of the internal delegations at the club.

On the table of decisions that Furlani will have to make will be the delegation to the Serie A League. Paolo Scaroni, a very high-profile figure in politics but not in football politics, has not performed well as a representative of Milan even though he is on the board of the aforementioned League.

“The Rossoneri’s political clout is not on a par with that of other clubs (Inter in primis), because over the years they have ‘neglected’ this power asset that is fundamental to the dynamics of football and to making their voice heard.

“Here Furlani will be called to a crossroads: take charge of this delegation (with what it entails) or bring in a general manager/foreign minister who knows how to manage this crucial aspect.

“Scaroni should not take it badly, he will be able to continue to make his good offices count in the drawing rooms of politics where his profile and standing are very high, but football needs alliances, knowledge of the matter and also of the market entanglements that your club makes with others, especially if these are clubs that have voting power within the League, in order to be able to make them count when necessary (like the postponement of Bologna-Milan).”
