Report: Loftus Cheek and Emerson present at Milanello on off-day the details

AC Milan earned two days off as a result of their win against Lecce at the weekend, which can surely be scrutinised a little. Nevertheless, some are not following that guide.

It is nothing new for players to be given a chance to rest, and more so in the latter parts of the season if the calendar allows. However, considering Sergio Conceicao’s complaints about his time with the group, it could be a slight shock.

Nevertheless, two days off were sanctioned after this weekend, but some are not following this.

As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan Press) write, effectively no one is at Milanello, with players getting a rare chance for a rest day after a difficult weekend, and in fairness, a difficult few months, both physically and mentally. However, some players have still attended the training ground.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Emerson Royal are both in the recovery process, so have checked in today to continue their rehabilitation and work so they are back ready for the head coach as soon as possible.

The Englishman hopes to be called up this weekend, to make his first minutes since the Supercoppa, though whether his appearance in Saudi Arabia can be classed as an appearance is debatable.

On the other hand, Emerson is not expected to be back for at least another few weeks, with his calf still ‘sore’.
