Breaking news: There are plans in place for AC Milan and Liverpool to face each other in Hong Kong for a pre-season friendly ahead

According to the South China Morning Post (via MilanNews) – a news portal on Hong Kong, China and Asia – a friendly match between Liverpool and Milan is expected to take place in Hong Kong on 26 July 2025.

Milan have stated that summer plans for friendlies and tours are still being finalised, but the match in Hong Kong is among the options being considered for pre-season. As a reminder, the Rossoneri headed out to Australia for a post-season friendly against Roma last year.

It has been the case that in the past few seasons Milan have gone out to the United States, so it remains to be seen if the Soccer Champions Trophy would still be part of the plans or if the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup might halt it.

Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage on penalties last night by Paris Saint-Germain, but remain well on course to win the Premier League title. They also have the League Cup final against Newcastle United at the weekend at Wembley.
