Dwight Howard won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, but after one season (2020-21) with the Philadelphia 76ers and one more back in L.A., he hasn’t been able to make an NBA return.

While Howard was 36 in his final season with the Lakers, he was solid in a role off the bench, averaging 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds over 16.2 minutes per game. The outspoken big man hasn’t shied away from posting on social media about his desire to return to the league.

Howard spoke with former Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers on the Above the Rim with DH12 podcast and made an interesting statement about his departure from the Lakers.

After Chalmers revealed that he once told current Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James to “stop acting like a b****,” Howard responded with a head-turning comment.

I said that, man, and I got kicked off the Lakers so I know how you feel!” Howard said.

Shortly after someone chimed in with the phrase “LeGM,” which some fans have jokingly called James, citing the belief that he impacts his team’s roster decisions like a general manager does.

It’s an interesting comment from Howard, 39, who played in the Taiwan Professional Basketball League for the Taoyuan Taiwan Beer Leopards in 2022-23.
