Sergio Conceicao is thinking about making a further tweak to the team in order to create balance in the midfield department, a report claims.
There is a real need to improve the defensive record after the Rossoneri allowed two goals in each of their last four Serie A games. They have only had three clean sheets in total under Conceicao, which is not enough for a coach whose Porto sides were much more solid at the back.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress), Conceicao has had a new idea that he will test and develop during the full weeks that are now available at Milanello. More specifically, he hopes to create a ‘shield’ with the midfield.
Those in the double pivot will now have a primary mission: to protect the rearguard, sitting in front of the back four. Warren Bondo’s debut in Lecce impressed the coach and he believes that pairing him with Youssouf Fofana is the winning move.
Then, the presence of the French duo would free Tijjani Reijnders in the attacking midfielder role to create and score as he has been season. This solution, it is said, will be tested against Como and then perfected during the international break
