La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that a ‘common friend’ of Giorgio Furlani and Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the Italian tactician, fuelling speculation of his return to Milan.

Allegri is reportedly one of the candidates to take over at San Siro next season. According to Gazzetta, a common friend of the Livorno-born coach and Furlani had an informal chat with Allegri on Tuesday.

According to the report, the pair didn’t discuss the technical project or the financial details of a potential Milan offer, but it was another step towards Allegri’s potential return to the club.

The experienced Italian coach has already won the Scudetto at Milan and remained at the club for three and a half years before being sacked in January 2014.

Calciomercato.com reported on Monday that Allegri had met Fabio Paratici for dinner a few days before. This sparked further speculation as the ex-Juventus director is among the leading candidates to become Milan’s sporting director in 2025-26.
