There could be further changes in the right-back department this summer at AC Milan, with a departure and a renewal planned.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanPress), Milan are thinking about the right side of the defence ahead of 2025-26 and it starts from once certainty: Kyle Walker has convinced everyone and will be signed on a permanent basis from Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Emerson Royal and Alessandro Florenzi face opposing fates. The Brazilian, who arrived last summer from Tottenham, seems destined to leave having failed to convince, which led to the signing of Walker.
Galatasaray were close to landing him in the winter mercato on loan with an option to buy before his injury put a stop to talks. They could come back in for him in the summer, the possibility of a return to LaLiga should not be overlooked either.
The former Roma man meanwhile – whose contract expires next June – wants to stay at the club. He is useful because of his versatility, experience and his homegrown player status, but he has been battling injuries in the past few seasons.
As a result, if he were to extend his deal then salary would have to be significantly lower than the €3m net he earns now, given it is nearly double in gross due to no Growth Decree. A meeting between the club and his agent is scheduled for April to discuss the future.
